A challanging championship
Rough conditions. That's the common denominator of the weekend.
The competition was all over characterized by rough sea and tough conditions, which resulted in a cancelled day one. Everyone started with clean sheets saturday morning, with a new day and a new competiton area.

The conditions was better on saturday and the competition could continue. The sea was tough regardless and the fish could be hard to find, which might be a reason for the fact that 16 athletes finished with no catch (marked with N/A on the results).
After up to 5 hours in the water, only 17 of the athletes came up with a catch. Photo: NDF
Still, many athletes used all the time they had at their disposal (5 hours in the water) for making the best out of the situation. That shows respect for sure!
Weighing with fish soup and curious spectators
During the weighing on Saturday, the last competition day, Hadsel Underwater Club organized a small get together with fish soup, homemade cakes, coffee and hot chocolate for everyone.

This was a very nice surprise to all participants and volunteers, and also for spectators and local journalists who came by this afternoon.
